Challenging weather forecast failed to put off the HROA fleet from a fine turn out at Yarmouth.
Members from afar as Bruinisse in South Holland to the east, and Weymouth to the west, gathered in the renowned Solent harbour of Yarmouth to enjoy a breezy and unseasonably chilly rally weekend, topped by an excellent dinner at the cheerfully warm and friendly Royal Solent Yacht Club.
Twenty nine boats in all, from a lovingly cherished Rasmus ketch, to a smart pair of HR46s lay rafted three deep all along the pontoons. Though as a series of lows lined up to march across the southern UK bringing driving rain and wind to the Western Solent, it was decided not to hold the traditional Friday evening pontoon party to welcome our hardy all comers!
